Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), the host, claimed a double by winning both the individual and team titles in 9th Coal India Limited (CIL) Inter-Company Golf Tournament at Mahanadi Golf Course, Jagruti Vihar, Burla yesterday.
G D Gulab emerged as the individual champion (Gross). He was also a member of the champion team with Hardial Singh, D K Gupta and S K Lal as teammates.
B Barathakur (Assam) was adjudged the best outstation golfer. Individual honours in net categories were claimed by VPS Bhalla (18 and above handicap) and B Nayak (below 18 handicap).
MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director S R Upadhyay inaugurated the 18-hole tournament, which had in the fray around 50 golfers from Kolkata, Assam, Ranchi, Bilaspur and Orissa (Basundhara, Lakhanpur, Talcher and Corporate Headquarters of MCL).
