Odisha suffered back-to-back defeats in the All India Senior Women’s T20 Tournament when they lost to Madhya Pradesh by six wickets at Pune on Saturday. International allrounder Nidhi Buley starred in the win, taking two wickets with her left-arm spin bowling and hitting an unbeaten 35.
Put into bat, Odisha rode on decent knocks by captain Madhusmita Behera (39 off 36) and stumper Kadambini Mohakud (36 not out off 38) to make 119 for six in the stipulated 20 overs. Chasing the competitive target, MP were in trouble, losing two wickets for 25 runs.
But Nidhi Buley and R Buley guided the team to victory, putting on 50 runs for the unfinished fifth-wicket partnership. Odisha women, who lost to Maharashtra by eight wickets earlier on Friday, will next meet Haryana on Sunday.
