Odisha get 3 points from drawn U-25 match vs Andhra

Odisha `A` gained three points by virtue of taking a slender seven-run first-innings lead against Andhra `A’ in their C K Nayudu Trophy (U-25) Elite Group-C match, which ended in a draw at Cudappa today. Hosts Andhra were 214 for four on the fourth and final day when both the captains agreed for the draw.
Inclement weather affected the match to a large extent.
Put into bat, Andhra `A’ were skittled out for 119, which included an unbeaten 55 by K Bharat Reddy. Odisha pacers bagged all the 10 wickets to make short work of the opposition first innings. Alok Sahoo was most successful among them, bagging four wickets for 20 runs.
In reply Odisha `A’ made 126 thanks to an unbeaten 25 by wicket-keeper Sujit Lenka. Though seven other batsmen reached double figures, none among them could touch the 20-run mark. Medium pacer B Ayyappa caused maximum damage to the Odisha innings, scalping five wickets for 61 runs.
In the second innings, the home team got off to a disappointing start, losing the first three wickets for 31 runs. But an unbeaten century (103) by G Chiranjivi and a half-century by M Prajith helped them recover well to draw the match and settle with one point. Odisha Medium-pacer Alok Sahoo once again proved to be the most successful bowler, taking three wickets.
