As many as eight meet records were rewrotten by Ranu Mohanty, Nakula Sahu and Krushna Chandra Sahu in the State Weightlifting Championship, which concluded at Kalyan Mandap in Titlagarh today.
Ganjam lifters lifted the team trophy, while Khurdha finished runners-up. Orissa Weightlifting Association joint-secretary Chitta Ranjan Swain presented a cash award of Rs 2,500 each for the eight new meet records.
`Bharattolana` the first ever Oriya book on weightlifting, written by Berhampur coach Sachindra Majhi was released on the occasion.
