Rourkela rode on a dazzling known of 147 by Swastik Samal to trounce Mayurbhanj by 115 runs in a fourth-round match of the OCA Senior Men Inter-District T20 League at Ravenshaw University Ground in Cuttack. With this win, Rourkela kept their hopes alive for a berth in the Super League.
The 72-ball knock of 147 by Swastik Samal is the highest score by any batsman in the ongoing tournament. He hit 13 fours and 8 sixes while spending 84 minutes at the crease. The 18 preliminary league matches of the day produced two more tons, 22 fifties and four hauls of four wickets each.
Rajesh Dhupar (109* for Cuttack-A) and Rakesh Gochhayat (105* for Angul) were other two ton-makers of the day. Cuttack-B left-arm spinner Dhiraj Singh was the most successful bowler of the day, bagging four wickets for five runs against Paradip. Other three bowlers with four-wicket hauls to their names were: Debasish Mahakud (Keonjhar), Badal Bhol (Nayagarh) and Sibaram Deo (Kandhamal).
