Jajpur batsman Mohammad Sohail Khan, Bargarh bowler Harjeet Singh and Balasore allrounder Rajib Lochan Sahu put up impressive performance for respective teams in preliminary league matches of the OCA Inter-District U-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at different grounds in Cuttack today.
Sohail hit a 127-ball 124 (13x4, 1x6) to power Jajpur to a 177-run win over Nabarangpur. Harjeet Singh captured five wickets for 18 runs as Bargarh crushed Kahahandi by eight wickets. Balasore rode on a four-wicket haul and a half-century by Rajib Lochan Sahu to beat Jagatsinghpur by six wickets.
Bhadrak prevailed over Gajapati by seven wickets, Bhubaneswar-B crushed Koraput by 181 runs and Puri got the better of Kandhamal by 74 runs in three other league matches of the day. Bhubaneswar-B, Balasore and Bhadrak emerged respective group toppers with three wins each.
