Rourkela, Jharsuguda and KIIT emerged respective group toppers with wins each at the preliminary league stage of the OCA Inter-District U-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at different grounds in Cuttack today. Rourkela rode on a century by Ashirwad Swain to get the better of Ganjam by 151 runs in Group G.
Jharsuguda captain Dhananjay Yadav, who is in scintillating form, slammed a sizzling 163 to power his team to a 177-run win over Boudh in Group H. KIIT prevailed over Malkangiri by 39 runs in Group I, thanks to good allround performance by Shankar Madkami.
Khurda thrashed Rayagada by 121 runs, Keonjhar beat Nayagarh by 77 runs and Sundargarh outplayed Paradip by five wickets in three other matches of the day. Khurda bowler Aditya Jaisingh achieved a notable feat by bagging six wickets for 18 runs.
