Boudh girl Sanchee Schoo and Jajpur boy Priansh Das emerged champions in the Odisha State U-14 Open & Girls Online Chess Championship which was organised in Tornelo online platform by All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA) on 10 and 11 June, 2021.
Pratyasha Jena (Cuttack) finished runner-up, behind Sanchee in girls section, will the runner-up position in open section was claimed by Sriansh Das, who happens to the twin brother of champion Priansh. As many as 21 girls and 50 boys participated in the state championship. Competitions in girls and open categories featured five and six rounds respectively.
Eminent chess coach Grandmaster R B Ramesh inaugurated the inaugurated the championship in virtual platform. International Master Swayangsu Satyapragyan was the guest of honour. GM Swayams Mishra, head of the Fairplay Committee, AOCA president Ranjan Mohanty, joint-secretary Bidhu Bhusan Mishra, treasurer Shankar Prasad Mishra and Chief Arbiter Suresh Chandra Sahoo were present on the occasion.
