Fine allround performace by Biswa Bhusan Bihari helped Kendrapara beat Ganjam by 167 runs in their preliminary league match of the Kalahandi Cup Inter-District Cricket Tournament (Senior & U-19 Men) at Sunshine Ground, Cuttack today.
Bihari scored 66 runs and picked up four wickets for nine runs. Aakash Chandra Nayak was another outstanding performer for Kendrapara, scoring a century. East Coast Railway, Angul, Cuttack-B, Bhubaneswar-A, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Khordha and Nayagarh registered wins in nine other matches of the day.
Among other notable performers of the day, Jayanta Behera (East Coast Railway), Deepak Tiwari and Milan Samal (both Angul) captured five wickets each. As many as nine batsmen hit a half-century each.

Match 37 (At SCB Medical College Ground, Cuttack): East Coast Railway 225/7 in 50 overs (Sandeep Mulia 69, Girija Rout 63, Lagnajit Samal 51; Rajnish Yadav 3/54, Prempratik Mohapatra 2/29, Anurag Kanojia 2/32) beat Boudh 85/10 in 31.5 overs (Vyankatesh Bhande 40; Jayanta K Behera 5/24, Lagnajit Samal 4/18) by 140 runs.
Match 38 (At Sunshine Ground, Cuttack): Kendrapara 232/10 in 45.1 overs (Aakash Chandra Nayak 112, Biswabhusan Bihari 66; Laxmi N Pal 3/42, Kalia Sahu 2/39, Om Munde 2/42, Mudidana S Bhanu 2/37) beat Ganjam 65/10 in 21.4 overs (Om T Munde 33*; Biswabhusan Bihari 4/9, Vimal Kumar 2/18) by 167 runs.
