A majestic knock of 161 (133 balls) by captain and wicketkeeper Akash Mohapatra enabled Bhadrak crush Nabarangpur by 309 runs in their preliminary league match of the Inter-District U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament at CV Raman Ground in Bhubaneswar today.
Keonjhar prevailed over Paradip by four wickets, Cuttack-A thrashed KIIT by five wickets and Cuttack-B got the better of Dhenkanal by 37 runs in three other matches of the day. All these four matches had been abandoned on July 29 due to rain.
Keonjhar captain and wicketkeeper Sarthak Swayamprakash was instrumental in their victory, hitting an unbeaten 97 off 112 balls. Abhisek Senapati bowled Cuttack-B to win over Dhenkanal, bagging six wickets for 13 runs.
