Cuttack-A rode on a century by Shashang Rungata to beat Keonjhar by 66 runs, via DL Method, in their truncated preliminary league match of the Kalahandi Cup Inter-District Cricket Tournament (Senior & U-19 Men) at Ravenshaw University Ground in Cuttack today.
Bhubaneswar-B, Jharsuguda, Balangir, KIIT, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada posted wins in seven other matches of the day. But the match between Jajpur and Paradip was abandoned due to heavy rain.
Mayurbhanj allrounder Aditya Basa was another outstanding performer of the day, scoring a half-century and capturing five wickts in their 106-run win over Jagatsinghpur. KG Krishna of Sonepur was most successful bowler of the day with a haul of five for 30 against Balangir. But his fine performance went in vain as Sonepur lost the match by 25 runs. Satyajeet Singhdeo was the architect of the Balangir win, taking four wickets for 20 runs.
