Two batsmen hit a century each while five bowlers bagged five wickets apiece in nine preliminary league matches of the Kalahandi Cup Inter-District Cricket Tournament (Senior & U-19 Men) at different grounds in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar today.
Suryakanta Das slamed 102 off 64 balls to power Jagatsinghpur to a five-wicket win over Gajapati, while Keonjhar rode on a 99-ball unbeaten 100 by Sourav Swayamprakash to prevail over Kandhamal by 64 runs.
Bhubaneswar-B, Balangir, Bargarh, Cuttack-A, Jajpur, Rourkela and Mayurbhanj registered wins seven other matches of the day. Amit Rout was the most successful bowler of the day as his haul of five for 12 enabled Bargarh beat Sonepur by four wickets.
