Pacer Rajesh Mohanty bagged five wickets for 52 runs to help East Coast Railway beat Odisha Blue by 24 runs in their super league match of the Kalahandi Cup Senior & U-19 Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Ravenshaw University Ground-2 in Cuttack today.
Sundargarh, Odisha Green, Cuttack-A, Odisha Red and Odisha Violet posted wins in five other matches of the day. Surya Mohapatra was the top scorer of the day, hitting an unbeaten 100 for Odisha Green in their nine-run win over Khordha. As many as 11 batsmen slammed a half-century each in the six super league matches of the day.
Pritam Jena of Rourkela was most successful among bowlers, capturing five wickets for 16 runs. But his impressive haul went in vain as Rourkela lost to Odisha Violet by nine runs. Three other bowlers picked up four wickets each for different teams.
