Odisha lost to Uttar Pradesh by 108 runs in their opening Elite Group-A match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy U-19 Men One-Day Cricket Tournament at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Mohali today.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Uttar Pradesh made 251 for eight and then dismissed Odisha for 143. Overall, it was mediocre performance by the Odisha team. However, five players of the team played well. Among them allrounder Saideep Mohapatra bagged two wickets and scored 34 runs.
Sambit Baral was the top scorer with 38 runs, while captain Surya Mohaptra contributed 30 runs. Sushil Kumar Barik was most successful Odisha bowler, bagging three wickets for 50 runs, while Aditya Kumar Jaisingh picked up two for 39.
