Odisha posted second straight win in the Elite Group-B of the BCCI Womens Senior One-Day Trophy, quelling the challenge of Chandigarh by 35 runs at Deccan Gymkhana Cricket Ground in Pune today. Madhuri Meheta and Tanmayee Behera played important roles in the Odisha win, hitting a half-century each.
Put into bat, Odisha made a healthy total of 253 for seven with the help of a 97-ball 76 (12x4) by Madhuri and a 64-ball 53 (7x4) by Tanmayee. The knock by Madhuri assumed significance as she achieved it on her birth day. Sushree Dibyadarshini Pradhan (35) and captain Madhusmita Behera (26 not out) also made notable contributions.
