Odisha teams _ Sports Odisha and Odisha Police _ started campaign with mixed luck in the Indian Women League (IWL) at different grounds in Bhubaneswar today. Odisha Police suffered a humiliating 12-0 drubbing against defending champions Gokulam Kerala while Sports Odisha came back from behind to edge out ARA FC 3-1.
India international Manisha Kalyan led the Gokulam Kerala rampage from the front scoring five goals. With the five goals today, Manisha Kalyan proved that she is the hottest and most valuable woman football player of India in recent times.
It would have been a remorseful day for tournament host Odisha Government if the State-sponsored team _ Sports Odisha _ had not come from behind to beat debutants ARA FC 3-1 in their opening match.
