India U-14 Girls team, featuring Odisha ace Sohini Mohanty, won the bronze medal at the ITF World Junior Tennis Championship Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying, which concluded at R K Khanna Tennis Stadium in New Delhi today. India also qualified for the World Group competition, finishing frouth in the Final Qualifying.
A total of 14 countries participated in the Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying, which was played on leagu-cum-knockout format. Japan won the gold medal, defeating Australia 2-1, while Korea finished third getting the better of India 2-1. Australia secured silver, while both Korea and India settled with bronze. The top four teams qualified for the World Group, which would be played later this year.
