Kendrapara and Puri emerged toppers of the Silver Group A and B respectively in the Kalahandi Cup Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament after completion of preliminary league matches at different ground in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Khordha today.
The Silver Group-A saw a tough fight with Kendrapara and Nabarangpur registering five wins and 20 points each. However, Kendrapara were declared group winner on head-to-head basis. In Silver Group-B, Puri emerged undisputed toppers with five wins.
As per the new format, Silver Group toppers Kendrapara and Puri will meet each other in a qualifier on May 5 and the winner will play the eliminator against the Gold Group loser Balasore on May 6. The winners of the eliminator will join top five teams of Diamond and Gold Group ((Bhubaneswar-A, East Coast Railway, Cuttack-A, Jharsuguda and Bhadrak) in the Super League.
