Allrounder Abhishek Raut and opening batter Madhuri Meheta were today selected for the Saheed Sporting-Maruti Estate Cricketer of the Year 2021-22. This was announced by Saheed Sporting secretary Pankaj Patnaik and Maruti Estate India Managing Director Jitendra Prasad Singh.
Abhishek and Madhuri will be the 29th male and eighth female cricketer respectively to bag this prestigious award. The awards, carrying cheque of Rs 31,000 each and Trophy would be presented in a function to be held in Bhubaneswar next month. Abhishek Raut has been chosen for this award for the first time, while Madhuri would receive it for second time.
Former player of IPL champions Rajasthan Royals, Abhishek accumulated a total of 489 runs and bagged 18 wickets in three formats of National domestic tournaments in the season 2021-22. Madhuri was the top scorer of the season for Odisha, aggregating 454 runs in One-Day and T20 formats.
