Hockey Association of Odisha (HAO) finished fourth in the 12th Hockey India Junior (U-20) Men National Championship after suffering a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Hockey Haryana in the bronze-medal match in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu today. Odisha had won the bronze medal in the last edition of the championship.
HAO started campaign, targeting gold medal. But after losing to Hockey Chandigarh 1-3 in the semifinals, they had to play for the third/fourth place. HAO reached semifinals, defeating Hockey Punjab 3-1 in the last quarterfinal match on May 25. HAO barged into the quarterfinals by winning all three of their league matches in Pool-C.
