World Chess Federation (FIDE) has nominated Odisha Candidate Master and Fide arbiter Aparajita Gochhikar as Fair Play Expert in the Fair Play Panel (FPP) for the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad, which is scheduled to be held at Mahabalipuram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 28 July to 10 August 2022.
Chess Olympiad is the biggest chess spectacle of World Chess Calendar where teams across 188 counties would be participating. A total of 18 Fair Play Experts from across the globe have been nominated by FIDE in the Fair Play Panel.
It is a major responsibility on 29-year-old Aparajita assigned by World Chess Federation to ensure Fair Olympiad. In her reaction, she thanked FIDE for this responsibility, All India Chess Federation (AICF), All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA) and her employers National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) for their consistent support and encouragement.
