Hockey players Deep Grace Ekka and Amit Rohidas became the ninth and 10th sportsperson respectively from Odisha to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games (CWG), which concluded in Birmingham, England today. Deep Grace and Amit also became the fifth and sixth hockey player from Odisha to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games.
Deep Grace achieved the feat as the vice-captain of the Indian Women Hockey Team that bagged the bronze medal at the 22nd edition of the quadrennial Games yesterday. Amit was part of the Indian Men Hockey Team that settled for the silver medal in Birmingham today.
