Cooch Behar Trophy: Odisha start campaign with a draw

Odisha started their campaign in the Cooch Behar Trophy Mens U-19 Cricket Tournament with a draw against hosts Bihar at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. Odisha missed an out-right win by one wicket in the four-day Group-C league match which ended today.

However, Odisha gained three points by virtue of taking first-innings lead, while Bihar settled with one point. Put into bat by Bihar captain Ayush Anand, Odisha rode on a half-century each by Shreyansh Bhardwaj (95) and Anshuman Sahoo (53) to made a healthy first-innings total of 265.

In reply, Bihar folded up for 191 to concede a lead of 74 runs. Medium-pacer Asutosh Marndi destroyed the Bihar first-innings, bagging six wickets for 47 runs. In their second innings, Odisha made 202 with captain Saideep Mohapatra (72) contributing a half-century.
