Dhenkanal claimed the title in the 1st HAO Hockey Association of Odisha Sub-Junior Women Hockey Championships, beating Sundargarh 6-0 in the final match at KIIT Hockey Stadium, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar today. KIIT-KISS won the bronze medal by getting the better of Deogarh 4-3 via shootout in the 3rd/4th place match.
On their way to the final, Dhenkanal defeated Nabrangpur 3-0, Nayagarh 8-0 and KIIT-KISS 7-0 whereas Sundargarh beat Jajpur 4-0, Jharsugda 4-1 and Deogarh 7-1.
