Host Ganjam won the team title in the Odisha State Weightlifting Championship, which was held at Jatadhareswar Kalyan Mandap in Berhampur, Ganjam on 19 and 20 November 2022. Khordha and Dhenkanal finished first and second runners-up respectively.
Khordha youngster Sadananda Bariha, who won two gold medals in 61kg category, was adjudged as best lifter in youth boys and junior men groups, while the best lifter in senior men category was claimed by Kanhu Charan Sahu (Ganjam).
The best lifter awards in youth girls, junior women and senior women were bagged by Jyoshna Sabar (Ganjam), Rima Bhoi (Khordha) and Pramila Krisani (Ganjam) respectively.
