India won the gold medal in the inaugural Mens Hockey 5s Asia Cup Tournament, edging out arch rivals Pakistan 2-0 in shoot-out after play in the regulation time of the thrilling final match ended 4-4 draw in Salalah, Oman today. While Pakistan settled for the silver medal, host Oman bagged the bronze, getting the better of Malaysia 5-4.
Top four finishers _ India, Pakistan, Oman and Malaysia _ qualified for the inaugural FIH Mens Hockey S5 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman from 24 to 31 January 2024.
