Sundargarh won the gold medal in the 2nd Odisha State Senior Women Hockey Championship, trouncing Odisha Secretariat 6-2 in the final at Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. While Odisha Secretariat settled for the silver medal, Odisha Police claimed the bronze medal with a 5-2 win over KIIT & KISS 3-1 earlier in the day.
Organised jointly by Hockey Association of Odisha (HAO) and the State Sports & Youth Services Department (DSYS), the five-day tournament featured 23 teams and 414 players. The 23 mathes of the championship produced a total of 146 goals.
