Host India won the gold medal in the 7th Women Asian Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament, trouncing Japan 4-0 in the lop-sided final at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand today. This was the second title triumph for India in the tournament.
China won the bronze medal, defeating Korea 2-1 earlier in the day. Malaysia finished fourth while Thailand had to settle for the sixth position. The tournament featured a total of six teams. India had previously won the title in 2016 and secured silver medals in 2013 and 2018.
