The Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha today felicitated 26 sportspersons across seven different disciplines with a total cash awards of Rs 23,53,500 for winning medals or participating in different national and international competitions.
Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera presented the cash awards at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Sports Director Siddhartha Das. But according to information received from DSYS, the 26 athletes were given a total cash award of Rs 24,15,500.
