Bhubaneswar boy Anwesh Upadhyaya grabbed the title, scoring full six points in the State Youth (under-25) Chess Championship, which concluded at the Sports and Cultural Centre in Puri today.
Biswajit Nayak, also from Bhubaneswar, finished runner-up with five points. The top two finishers qualified to represent Orissa in the National Youth Champinoship to be held later this year.
The three-day state meet was organised by Puri District Chess Association. Damodar Pradhani and A B Mohanty gave away prizes at the closing function. The under-25 meet will be followed by under-19 championship at the same venue from Friday.
