The 70th Odisha State Junior Athletics Championship concluded with a total of nine New Meet Records (NRM), including three on the third and final day at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. Bargarh sprinter Pratik Maharana, Jajpur runner Bapi Hansda and Cuttack thrower Ommkar Prasad Nanda established the three NMRs in boys-18 age group on the concluding day.
Pratik Maharana created the NMR in 200m sprint, clocking 21.89 seconds. He clinched a sprint double, winning both the 100m and 200m gold medals. Ommkar Nanda also bagged a double, winning both the shot put and discus gold medals. He created a new meet record in discus throw with an effort of 48.81 metres.
