Captain-stumper Sarthak Prakash slammed the first double hundred in the ongoing OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament to propel Keonjhar to a 246-run win over Kandhamal in a high-scoring preliminary league match at Bidanasi Ground in Cuttack today.
In reply to a record total of 418 for seven in 49 overs by Keonjhar, Kandhamal were bowled out for 172. Kandhamal captain Pritam Samal waged a lone battle with a defiant century. Khordha, Balasore, Bargarh, Sambalpur and Dhenkanal posted wins in five other matches of the day at different grounds in Cuttack.
Dhenkanal opening batter Prayan Samal was another star performer of the day, hitting a 99-ball 117 against Puri. Three bowlers put up notable performances, bagging four wickets each. They were Ajay Upreti (Bargarh), Akash Pradhan (Cuttack-B) and Bedvyas Nayak (Kandhamal).
