A number of new talents came to the limelight, while Kashika Pradhan emerged most successful among established ones with three gold medals to her name in the 13th Odisha State Shooting Championship, which was held at Kalinga Stadium and Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar from 25 to 28 July 2024.
A trainee of Bhubaneswar-based Odisha Aditya Birla Gagan Narang Shooting High Performance Centre, Kashika clinched the treble in womens 50m rifle prone, 50m rifle three position and 10m rifle events. A national medallist, Kashika is now pursuing a course in Chartered Accountancy.
Mohit Kumar Paswan also lived up to his reputation as a National medallist, winning the yellow metal in mens 10m rifle (ISSF) category. The four-day championship was organised by Orissa Rifle Association (ORA) with the support of the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha.
