Odisha crashed out of the Girls National Football Championship (Tier-1) despite registering an 11-0 thumping win against Mizoram in their third and last Group-D league match at RDT Stadium in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh today. Odisha mid-fielder Ipshita Rout achieved a sparkling individual feat by scoring six goals against Mizoram.
Delhi qualified for the semifinals from Group-D, winning all of their three league matches. Odisha finished second in the group with two wins and one defeat. Earlier in their opening match, Odisha rode on a hat-trick by captain Thandamoni Baskey to beat Chhattisgarh 4-2. But a stunning 1-3 defeat against Delhi in the second match denied Odisha a berth in the semifinals.
