Bargarh lifted the Sahani Cup by emerging champions in the 63rd Senior Men Inter-District Football Tournament which concluded at Sundargarh today. Bargarh beat Mayurbhan in the double-leg final with an aggregate margin of 6-1 goals. The champion team won the first leg 3-0 at Baripada on October 6 and the second leg 3-1 at Sundargarh today.
The champions and runners-up teams received cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively. Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, MLA Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, Odisha Cricket Association secretary Sanjay Behera and Odisha Olympic Association secretary Avijit Paul were present on the occasion.
