After suffering an innings defeat against Maharashtra in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy U-23 Men Cricket Championship, Odisha came back stronger, taking first-innings lead against Kerala in their third Group-A match, which ended in a draw at Krishnagiri Stadium in Wayanad, Kerala today. Odisha secured nine points from this four-day match, while host Kerala got six.
The most significant aspect of the match was the strong batting performance displayed by Odisha, who mustered a massive total of 486, in reply to 319 by Kerala. Among successful Odisha batters, allrounder Sambit Baral scored a century (111), Om T Munde missed the three-figure mark by eight runs and captain-stumper Sawan Pahariya (76), Saideep Mohapatra (64) and Asutosh Marndi (51) contributed one half-century each.
