A four-wicket haul by Pradep Kumar Pradhan and a half-centy by Swastik Samal went in vain as Odisha lost to Vidarbha by 33 runs in their Group-D match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Senior Men T20 Cricket Tournament at Dr Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam today.
Put into bat by Odisha captain Govinda Poddar, Vidarbha rode on a 39-ball 77 by Karun Nayar to compile a healthy total of 216 for six. Making his T20 debut for Odisha, Pradeep Pradhan captured four wickets for 33 runs. In reply, Odisha were bowled out for 183. Opening batter Swastik Samal was top scorer for Odisha, hitting 32-ball 63, which included seven boundaries and four sixes. Nayar was awarded as the player of the match.
