Odisha beat Gujarat by three runs in their third Group-E match of the BCCI Women U-15 One-Day Trophy Cricket Tournament at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh today. This was the third successive win for Odisha, who earlier defeated Manipur and Mizoram.
Electing to bat, Odisha made a modest total of 136 for six in the stipulated 35 overs and then bowled out Gujarat for 133. Odisha captain Anushka Mohanty was the main architect of their thrilling win, hitting an 80-ball 63.
Chirashree Rout was the most successful Odisha bowler, taking three wickets for 29 runs. Sheetal Rout was another notable performer for Odisha, scoring 34 runs and picking up two wickets. Odisha will next play Vidarbha on November 27.
