Host Odisha girls Jyoshna Sabar and Tulasi Sabar won gold and silver medal respectively on the opening day of the Asmita Khelo India Womens Weightlifting League (National Round) 2024-25 at Ganjam Weightlifting Academy, Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Berhampur today.
Asian and Commonwealth youth champion Jyoshna bagged the gold and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 in youth 40kg weight class, lifting 55kg in snatch and 63kg in clean & jerk for a total of 118kg. The silver and bronze medals were claimed by K Ishwariya (Tamil Nadu) and Himanshi (Haryana) respectively.
