Maganti Keerthi and Prativa Rani Patra secured one silver medal each for host Odisha on the fourth day of the Asmita Khelo India Womens Weightlifting National Zonal League 2024-25 at Ganjam Weightlifting Academy, Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Berhampur today.
Keerthi, a first-year MCom student of KIIT University, won the silver in 76kg senior category, lifting 79kg in snatch, 100kg in clean & jerk for a total of 179kg. Subiksha K of Tamil Nadu and Shalini Kumari of Bihar claimed the gold and bronze medal with total lifts of 184kg and 173kg respectively.
Prativa, a cadet of Odisha Weightlifting High Performance Centre, bagged the silver medal in 76kg youth category with efforts of 64kg in snatch, 78kg in clean & jerk and 142kg in total. The gold and bronze in this category went to Vaishnavi (Haryana) and Cindy Lalparmawii (Mizoram) respectively.
