HIL Men 2024-25: Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers crowned champions

Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers emerged champions in the Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2024-25, defeating Hyderabad Toofans 4-3 in the exciting final at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela today. Jugraj Singh was the main architect of the Bengal Tigers win, converting three penalty corners.

With this victory, Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers also claimed Rs 3 crore prize money, while the Hyderabad Toofans received Rs 2 crore for finishing as runners-up. JSW Soorma Hockey Club bagged the bronze medal and prize money of Rs 1 crore, defeating Tamil Nadu Dragons 3-2.

Odisha teams Vedanta Kalinga Lancers and Team Gonasika finished sixth and seventh respectively in the eight-team tournament. Vedanta Kalinga Lancers garnered 12 points from 10 matches, winning four and loosing six, while Team Gonasika scored 12 points from 10 games, winning four and loosing six. This is the sixth edition of the HIL which was revived after a gap of seven years.
