Hockey Association of Odisha Women Team won the gold medal in the 1st Hockey India Masters Cup, edging out Hockey Punjab by a solitary goal in the hard-fought final at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu today. But the Odisha Men Team finished fourth, losing to Hockey Chandigarh 1-2 in the bronze-medal match.
Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu men were crowned, while Hockey Maharashtra settled with the silver medal. Hockey Haryana women won the bronze medal, defeating Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu. Lucela Ekka and Lazarus Barla were captains of the Odish women and men teams respectively.
