Odisha settled for the silver medal in the 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (Division-A) when they lost to host Jharkhand in the hard-fought final by a solitary goal at Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Hockey Stadium in Ranchi today. Haryana claimed the bronze medal, defeating Mizoram 5-4 in shoot out after play in the regulation time ended in 3-3 draw.
According to Odisha team coach Florencia Ekka, both the finalists were evenly-matched teams. But home ground and crowd support boosted the performance of the Jharkhand team, while Odisha girls buckled under pressure and made mistakes.
