Cuttack lifted Sahani Cup, the symbol of supremacy in Senior Men Inter-District Football Championship, the 64th edition of which concluded Keonjhar Stadium in Keonjhar today. Cuttack won the double-leg final against Sambalpur 2-1 in aggregate.
Cuttack won the first final 1-0 at the District Stadium in Boudh on August 1, while second final between the two sides ended in 1-1 draw at Keonjhar Stadium in Keonjhar today. The champion team pocket the top prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the runners-up side received Rs 50,000.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophy. Sunil Sahoo also presented special cash prizes of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 to the champion and runners-up teams, on behal of Gouri Shankar Sahani Trust.
