Yash Rout bagged four gold medals to emerge as the most successful achiever of the 14th Odisha State Shooting Championship, which was organized by Orissa Rifle Association (ORA), with the support of the State Sports & Youth Services Department at Kalinga Stadium Shooting Range and Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar from 1 to 4 September 2025.
Around 200 competitors from different districts vied for medals in the four-day championship, which was inaugurated by Odisha Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj. School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) president Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo presented the medals at the closing ceremony.
ORA president Gouri Mohanty, vice-president Chitta Ranjan Swain and Romiya Kanta Nanda, secretary Hari Prasad Pattanayak, joint-secretary Asish Nayak and treasurer Balabhadra Das were present on the occasion. Out of a total of 58 events, 23 featured only one competitor, while 12 events were conducted with two shooters each.
