Cricket matches for women can be funny at times. That is what happened when Odisha beat Jharkhand by 18 runs in their Elite Group-B match of the BCCI Women U-19 T20 Trophy Cricket Tournament at RDCA Ground in Raipur, Chhattisgarh today. Looking at the scorecard should be good enough to understand how funny it was.
Three players of the victorious Odisha team put up impressive performances in this match. Stumper Anjel Raj top scored with a 23-ball 24, Sreya Priyadarshini bagged four wickets, including a hat-trick, and MS Shuvashri Priyadarhini Pramanik claimed three wickets.
This was the first win in three matches for Odisha, who lost their first two games against Saurashtra and Uttar Pradesh by two and nine wickets respectively. Odisha will next meet Gujarat at BSP Cricket Stadium, Bhilai on October 31.
