Rourkela captain Hemanta Nayak, Ganjam bowler Om T Munde and Jharsuguda allrounder Dhananjay Yadav displayed splendid performances for respective teams in preliminary league matches of the OCA Inter-District U-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at different grounds in Cuttack today.
Hemanta Nayak hit a double century to enable Rourkela register their second successive win, trouncing Rayagada by 308 runs. Jharsuguda, KIIT and Ganjam too posted back-to-back wins in respective groups. Jharsuguda crushed Nayagarh by 102 runs, thanks to Dhananjay Yadav, who slammed 95 and captured four wickets.
Om Munde bagged six wickets for 23 runs to bowl Ganjam to a three-wicket win over Khurda. KIIT got the better of Paradip by 69 runs, Keonjhar prevailed over Boudh by 189 runs and Sundargarh defeated Malkangiri by 18 run in three other matches of the day.
