Bhubaneswar-B bowler Vishal Kumar and Balangir batsman Samarpet Patel put up outstanding performances in two preliminary league matches of the Inter-District U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament at different grounds in Jatni and Bhubaneswar today.
Vishal bagged eight wickets for 13 runs to propel Bhubaneswar-B to a 101-run win over Sonepur, while Samarpet hit a 157-ball 146 to power Balangir to a 246-run victory against Puri.
Bhubaneswar-A, Khordha, Nayagarh and Jharsuguda registered wins in four other matches of the day. Five other bowlers captured five wickets each, while three batsmen hit a half-century apiece in the day.
