Binaya Paikaray and Ayush hit a century each to guide Puri and Sambalpur to emphatic wins against Balangir and Rayagada respectively in two preliminary league matches of the Kalahandi Cup Inter-District Cricket Tournament (Senior & U-19 Men) at different grounds in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar today.
Bhubaneswar-B, Jharsuguda, Cuttack-A, Jajpur, KIIT and Koraput registered wins six other matches of the day. Binaya Paikaray was the top scorer of the day, hitting an unbeaten 107 off 98 balls. Among other successful batsmen, Sourav Gouda (Bhubaneswar-B), Anshuman Mishra (Balangir), Keshav Negi (Paradip), Maroju Prasanth (KIIT), Roshan Mohapatra, Manas Pattnaik (both Sambalpur), Samir Mandal (Rayagada) and Ronald RB Singh (Gajapati) scored a half-century each.
