Underdogs Khordha caused a major upset when they beat formidable East Coast Railway by 39 run in their super league T20 match of the Kalahandi Cup Senior & U-19 Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Sunshine Ground in Cuttack today. Sidhant Jena and Ranjit Paikaray shone in the Khodha win, hitting a half-century each.
Sundargarh, Odisha Blue, Odisha Pink, Rourkela and Odisha Violet posted wins in five other matches of the day. Sundargarh allrounder Walter Toppo was the most successful performer of the day, scoring 62 runs and bagging four wickets for 17 runs against Odisha Green.
In another upset of the day, Odisha Violet demolished fancied Cuttack-A by 144 runs. For the winners, Aditya Basa bagged five wickets for four runs, while Aditya Rout and Sarbeswar Mohanty hit a half-century each.
